A rabbi, educator, and guide helping individuals and families connect meaningfully to Jewish life. I believe Judaism should feel real, relevant, and deeply personal.

About me

Rabbi Jacob Kotlicky

I’m not here to perform a service. I’m here to walk with you—through milestones, questions, celebrations, and everything in between.

For over 15 years, I’ve worked closely with students, families, and communities at every stage of the Jewish journey. I’ve guided teens preparing for bar and bat mitzvah, taught classes that opened new doors, and officiated weddings and funerals with depth and care. I’ve been a resource not just for rituals—but for real life.

Much of my work today centers around teens and college students, especially those trying to make sense of their Jewish identity in a world that often feels hostile to it. I’ve sat with students who are proud but unsure, who want to speak up but don’t know how. I help them find clarity, confidence, and connection—not through fear, but through strength, joy, and rootedness.

My path hasn’t been linear—and I think that’s a strength. I studied in yeshiva, earned semicha, and hold two master’s degrees. I’ve worked in both education and healthcare, and I bring all of that experience to how I listen, teach, and support others. I’ve always cared more about being real and being present than about checking boxes or playing a part.

Whether you're looking for a tutor, an officiant, a thought partner, or someone to talk to—I’m here. I bring sincerity, presence, and a deep belief in the power of Jewish learning, ritual, and resilience.

If you’re looking for someone you can trust with your child, your ceremony, your questions, or your story—that’s me. And I’d be honored to walk that journey with you.
